So last night I decided to make a short video in response to the health, wealth, and prosperity gospel. As well as the idea that it’s sincere to tell people that “God has a wonderful plan for their life” as a draw card to get them to make some decision or profession of faith.
This is by far the best video I’ve produced, so I hope you guys will check it out.
In this video Jay Bakker discusses “Love the Sinner, Ignore the Sin” with evangelical comedian Mark Lowry. This video is a complete train wreck. I want to add that loving the sinner while ignoring the sin is not loving at all but hatred towards the sinner. Likewise all this discussion on “Friendship Evangelism” is ridiculously unbiblical.
If you have never watched Mark Lowry’s YouTube show before it’s a mess. It’s filled with heretical teachers like Tony Campolo and Jay Bakker. It’s nothing more then Mark Lowry staring at his guests with his mouth open, agreeing with everything they say without rebuke.
Yet again people have been virtually silent on Mark Lowry’s connections. Maybe it’s all one big joke.
Hey folks, here’s a video blog I did Sunday night after I got home from Bele Chere! Marcus and I have been talking a lot recently about the pressure to go to seminary or get a degree before speaking out boldly for truth. People so often mistakenly think that God can only use someone once man has signed off on him. Acts 4 is a great example of how that’s not true. Christ grew the Church originally from poor, uneducated, fishermen!
Sometimes we think that God speaks to us today through this audible voice like he did Moses or Job. That’s not true. God speaks through his written Word. This song does a fantastic job of showing how God “Speaks” through what has already been spoken. I like this song a lot. The Gospel is presented and God is glorified beautifully.
I can’t take credit for this. Rett posted this on his Facebook with these observations and I thought they needed to be posted on the blog. Original sin states very clearly that men are born wicked. This means that even at a young age, children rebel against their maker and indulge in wickedness. Watch this very popular (and funny) YouTube video and tell us below if Charlie knew what he was doing. Look at the smile on Charlies face. I believe if Charlie could have he would have torn the finger off of Harry and still laughed about it. Repent Charlie and believe the Gospel.
The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. — Genesis 6:5
Sure the video was funny, and cute…but it really is the common grace of God that allows babies to be funny, cute and adorable otherwise humanity would refuse to raise children. Praise God we do laugh at this…or else no one would ever live to have children of their own.
Le t me be very, very clear. I believe two things. The first is that God is love. The second is that God, in some way, loves everybody. His love for some is not the same as love for others and never will be. For more information on that you can read “The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God” by D.A. Carson
Yet it seems all to often that we hear the phrase “God is Love” without any qualification. It is often used as a weapon from the mouth of those who have a sinful agenda to promote. The point is that many people use the statement God is Love as a form of universalism. As if the fact that God is love means Hell is non-existent.
The people that use God is love wrongly, use it as if God is handcuffed to this single attribute. As if God’s love restrains him from other attributes which the Bible is very clear on. For example the book of Nahum clearly lists God’s other attributes which you never hear coming from the mouth of men like @JayBakker or @MelWhite who speak as if God’s love means he overlooks sin.
The LORD is a jealous and avenging God;
the LORD is avenging and wrathful;
the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries
and keeps wrath for his enemies.
That’s because they worship a God who does not exist. They worship a puny and trite God who would rather feed kids candy to make them “feel good” as opposed to giving them rel food that will strengthen them and help them grow.
Don”t believe me? Watch this video by “The Michael Gungor Band” called “White Man”
Pay attention to 1:40 when the hearts representing the love of God, give a child exactly what she wants, even if it is ultimately bad for her. But be warned this song will be stuck in your head.
Yes, God loves terrorist, he loves them because he has not killed them all and gives them another day to repent before he gives them justice. The same justice that I deserve.
People who use “God is love” as a weapon towards those preaching the Gospel really become a weapon against the Gospel. They have a very small view of God, and a very high view of man. Yes, God is love…But he is also Just, Holy, Holy, Holy and Righteous.
This is why as evangelist it is very important for us to not only use the Law and Gospel, but to proclaim the truth about who God is and his true Character. Spend some time during open air and preach on the attributes of God. Let people know who God is. Let them know exactly who they must bend a knee too.
The Gospel should be preached in such a way that men come to a very clear understanding to who God is that they bend a knee and worship him, or they turn and rebel against him. However there should never be any doubt as to who he is and who they reject.
I have no idea the point she is trying to make here… It seems like she was making a point about something, then she does some strange rambling, then get’s back the birthing pains. Anyways… Grab some coffee and an Excederin, then if you figure out her point comment below and fill me in.
Join us as we sit down with an incredible reformed Christian artist named Jovan Maxkenzy as he discusses his testimony, newest album called “The Narrow Road” and the state of the current Gospel Music Industry.
Even though not as many people replied to the comment as the infamous Piper/Warren photo. We still had some good responses… The photo is up Katharine Jefferts Schori a terrible wolf who is out to destroy the already devastated Episcopal Church
So like always here is the Runner Up…by Stephen.
Girl: “There’s 40 rolls of duct tape in here. You’ll be needing it for your church, as it seems to me it’ll be the only thing holding you guys together.”
Bishop: “Hmm yes, I was hoping good will and good intentions would do the trick but I suppose I could try this.”
and now for the winner…
The winner will receive if he wishes a copy of Tony Miano’s “Take Up the Shield”
[Insert Drum Roll Sound Effect]
and the winner is…
Joel Taylor who happens to be a blogger of a great site called 5ptsalt.com
“On behalf of my village, I present you with this gift of 30 pieces of silver, in hope that you will be clearly marked as an enemy of my Lord, and His people.”
So congratulations Joel! Your copy of Take Up the Shield is on it’s way.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
-John 3:16-18
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” -John 3:36
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
-John 14:6
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
-Acts 4:12
“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
-1 Timothy 2:5
It sounds friendly, it’s a clever deception, but what does scripture tell us???
